Bloom into Spring 2012!
January 13th, 2012Ladies, this season the trend continues! So don’t put those roses, tulips or daisies away just yet.
Floral prints were up and down & head to toe all over the runways for Spring 2012. From Valentino to Proenza Schouler and Oscar de la Renta, florals were virtually in every designers list.
Although we’ve seen this trend in previous seasons, the new wave of florals is all about bold prints, intricate designs and vibrant colors.

November 4th, 2011Now that Halloween is over, it’s pretty safe to say that we can officially start preparing for the Holidays. In 3 weeks you’ll be stuffing your face with turkey and stuffing while laughing with family members you haven’t seen all year and before you know it you’ll be unwrapping gifts with those family members. My how time flies! To help you prepare for the Holiday rush we put together a Holiday shopping list that will make perfect gifts and stocking stuffers. Items such as designer sunglasses, watches and handbags will put a smile on anyone’s face. If you’re usually the person at the mall at 2pm Christmas Eve picking up everyone’s gift, we understand but we want to make it easier. Chickdowntown, as always will be open whenever you need us, adding new merchandise on a daily basis. Think it’s a little too early to start your Holiday shopping? With all the great deals happening on Black Friday we don’t blame you! Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year and we are going to make sure you save MORE than you would at the mall. Breast Cancer Awareness and a Creepy Sale!
October 24th, 2011Man, has it been a while! We have been busy adding new merchandise to the site and constantly trying to come up with new ways to make your shopping experience with us more pleasurable and fun. We are happy to announce that we will be featuring MORE brands that you love, such as BCBG, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and also other up and coming contemporary designers that we know will make your heart melt. Since its October, that means Halloween is right around the corner! What are we dressing up as this year? If you are not the Halloween type, we have another way you can get in the spirit: by shopping with us! We will be having an un-BOO-lievable sale (sorry, had to throw in the Halloween reference 
) on Halloween showcasing all of your favorite designers and brands at up to 91% off retail! Creepy huh? (Ok, that’s the last of the Halloween references).
Another important event that we are supporting this month is Breast Cancer Awareness. We will having a ‘Pink’ sale so you can stock up on pink merchandise to sport throughout the month and help bring awareness to a great cause. Pink watches, sunglasses, apparel and more can be found during this event.

The Christmas of Fashion: Fashion Week!
September 16th, 2011It is probably one of the most exciting times for fashionistas everywhere as Fashion Week is in full effect. We’ve been glued to our computers as we have been researching up to the minute updates on what’s been hot on the runway. We’ve been in awe at some of the new trends that have emerged such as the ‘Sporty Chic’ look and old trends that are here to stay-such as color blocking. A major trend alert that has been seen in many collections: Peplum! This may give us a flashback into the 80’s but be prepared to see it when you are out doing your spring shopping. The trend adds a girly touch to your wardrobe whether it be on your jacket, sweater or even your basic tops. Another 80’s look taking over the runway? The Mullet. No, not the awful hairstyle. Mullet Hems. You know, short in the front, long in the back. Seen mostly on skirts and dresses, the look gives an illusion that you are wearing a mini when looking at you from the front, but someone looking at you from the back will think you are wearing a long skirt. It’s a great look for formal events.

Labor Day and The Great Debate

Labor Day is just around the corner and as the day approaches so do the sales! Your weekly trip to the mall will probably be well worth it, but shopping this weekend on chickdowntown won’t leave you with that guilty feeling you get after the damage is done. Now, for the great debate-will you wear white after Labor Day? This fashion “faux-pas” has been around for so long but these days, fashion is a bit more lenient. It’s become a way to express yourself rather than just always following what’s hot for the season. My vote?-wear white whenever you feel like! White started off as a summer color, but we are slowly seeing it year round. So don’t tuck your white jeans in just yet. They’ll make a perfect match to your winter whites!
