Contrarian Bibb Dress – Our Online Exclusive!

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

When one of our clothing reps called the other day and offered us the Contrarian Bibb Dress as an online exclusive (at least until pre fall deliveries start shipping), I thought – Is she kidding?! We’ll absolutely take it! Pictured on Taylor Swift below, the dress really does look like something out of a “fairytale“. With its backless bib cut-out bodice and full flowing skirt, it’s the perfect combination between sexy and sophisticated.

Contrarian, which is defined as a person with a preference for taking a position opposed to that of the majority, was created exactly for its namesake demographic. The label is designed by a mother and daughter duo whose goal is to create every piece with a sense of sophistication, but also add a unique and edgy twist. To further elaborate on the reasoning for the name, Barbara Laken (the mother), commented that the launch of the line in the fall of 2009 was “contrary” to many industry opinions due to the poor economic environment at that time. Although I cannot predict the fate of the company, I can tell you that I am loving the current collection and can’t wait to get in the full fall line!

6.11.10 Deal of the Day: House of Harlow 1960 Sunburst Stations Necklace

Friday, June 11th, 2010

Today’s deal of the day is House of Harlow’s stunning Sunburst Stations Necklace. You can dress up any ordinary outfit with this exceptional piece. The versatile necklace allows for a variety of styles because of its black leather sunburst charms. I absolutely love the contrast between the yellow-gold and the black leather.

The House of Harlow line has been spotted on celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Ashlee Simpson, Paris Hilton, and Nicole Richie herself. This boho-chic jewelry line also makes for a great present.

Be sure to check out the unique yet affordable House of Harlow 1960 line for all of Nicole Richie’s chic retro jewelry. Here’s a recent photo from our lookbook:

6.10.10 Deal of the Day: Alice + Olivia Samantha Striped Sequin Tee

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Striped tees are a huge trend this season and by adding the sequin detail, Alice + Olivia makes this Samantha Striped Sequin Tee that much more special. As seen on one of my personal favorite celebs, Whitney Port sports the trendy top on both the streets of NYC and on The City.

Style it like Whitney with these pieces by Joe’s Jeans, L.A.M.B. & 80%20:

6.3.10 Deal of the Day: Bensimon Sneakers

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Today’s Deal of the Day are three of my favorite colors of Bensimon sneakers. A french footwear based shoe line, Bensimon, made it’s American debut last spring. Premiering in every color in the hipster palette (black, taupe, and mossy green), these rubber-soled canvas sneaks are now available in all colors under the sun. I’m particularly loving the bright yellow, blue and red. The fun part about these tennis shoes are the number of options you can wear them. Pair them with the instinctive cut offs and your favorite tee or mix it up by pairing them with a frilly chic dress (see the look below).

Here’s one of my favorite looks from Teen Vogue:
