Labor Day is just around the corner and as the day approaches so do the sales! There are so many trends to keep up with this fall, from 70’s glamour and lace to color blocking and feathers it just doesn’t stop. One trend that seems to standout though, is Menswear for Women. To sport this trend doesn’t mean borrowing you boyfriends button up and slacks, but rather sporting a masculine looking blazer or a pair of trousers but still putting a feminine touch to the look so that you don’t go overboard. This week on Chickdowntown, we are celebrating this look by having a sale spotlight on this trend. You’ll find blazers, wide leg trousers, loose fitted button ups and other “masculine but feminine” items. It’s a bold trend but true fashionistas like you can surely pull it off with no problem.

This week we continue to bring you the latest trends in offering a sale spotlight on biker fashion. For some it’s a hit and for others it’s a miss. The rugged look of biker fashion can be tricky as you don’t want to overdo it and look like a real motorcyclist (although, that’s not such a bad thing). We have taken the Biker Chick and made it Biker Chic. The biker chic look can be achieved by pairing a leather zipper jacket with sexy skinny jeans. Or if you are really brave, you can pair skinny leather pants with a loose crop top. Whatever you’re comfortable with, we’ve got you covered. Other latest fashion trends that we are highlighting this week are Pleats. With trend forecasting and of course from what’s seen on the runway, it seems as though pleats are going to be seen everywhere this fall(add that to your back to school shopping list). What do you think about pleats? Like the biker chic look, pleats can sometimes be a love it or hate it type fashion.
Since its summertime we decided to ditch the usual “little black dress” and feature a spotlight on the little white dress. We all know everyone needs a little black dress, but now with white being a must have color no matter the season, a little white dress is imperitive. Other features to look out for: A pajama sale for your slumber needs and a midsummer sale on hundreds of items. Today’s Sale Spotlight highlights a popular trend of the season: Delicate Details. Even before Catherine Middleton’s infamous lace wedding gown, this openwork fabric was spotted all over the SS11 runways. In the past we have seen an overwhelming amount of menswear inspired silhouettes – the boyfriend blazer, boyfriend jeans, etc. It’s about time that we went back to our female roots and started dressing like a lady.
