“There’s the element of encouragement with orange, it’s building on the ideas of courage and action that we want to move on to better things. I think it would be a disservice to go with a relaxed, soothing color now,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, told the Associated Press.

Floral prints were up and down & head to toe all over the runways for Spring 2012. From Valentino to Proenza Schouler and Oscar de la Renta, florals were virtually in every designers list.

So it may be safe to say that summer has ended. It’s back to your hectic days but it’s not all a sad story. Chickdowntown is extending summer by offering a HUGE sale on summer merchandise. Yes, the weather is changing and now may not be the best time to stock up on shorts or the cutest bikini, but what about your vacations? You might visit your in laws down in Florida for Christmas, or your husband may surprise you with a cruise to the Bahamas for your January Anniversary. Wishful thinking?-maybe. But as true fashionistas know, the best time to shop for the season(savings wise) is, well-after the season. There are so many trends that don’t only last through summer. They can easily carry on throughout the year so don’t feel blue if ou decide to go on a shopping binge from the clearance rack.
This week chickdowntown is celebrating the end of summer by offering an amazing sale on “last chance” items like sunglasses, shorts, flirty dresses and more. To sport this trend doesn’t mean borrowing you boyfriends button up and slacks, but rather sporting a masculine looking blazer or a pair of trousers but still putting a feminine touch to the look so that you don’t go overboard. This week on Chickdowntown, we are celebrating this look by having a sale spotlight on this trend. The rugged look of biker fashion can be tricky as you don’t want to overdo it and look like a real motorcyclist (although, that’s not such a bad thing). We have taken the Biker Chick and made it Biker Chic. The biker chic look can be achieved by pairing a leather zipper jacket with sexy skinny jeans. Or if you are really brave, you can pair skinny leather pants with a loose crop top. Whatever you’re comfortable with, we’ve got you covered. Other latest fashion trends that we are highlighting this week are Pleats. With trend forecasting and of course from what’s seen on the runway, it seems as though pleats are going to be seen everywhere this fall(add that to your back to school shopping list).
