How to Prevent Hat Hair
Hats can be pretty alluring when they are stylish and cute. However, one of the drawbacks to wearing a trendy hat is that you will inevitably at some point experience Hat Hair. Hat Hair comes in various shapes and sizes. One example of Hat Hair is when there’s an imprint of the hat left in your hair. Another is when your hair experiences static electricity — where it stands on end once you take the hat off. Any which way Hat Hair hits you, here are some tips on how to avoid the deadly fashion disease.
- Run some leave-in conditioner in your hair, even in your scalp. Just use a quarter-size worth of conditioner, as using too much can actually cause Hat Hair.
- Don’t keep your hat on too long. Adjust your hair every so often, whether you comb it or run your fingers through it. This will give your hair a bit of a break.
- Hairstylist Marc Antony suggests that women who have straight hair should wear knit caps, with their hair pulled into two loose braids after being dried. When you get to your final destination, take off the hat and a loose wave will appear.
- In order to get a static-free look, avoid hair products that will dry out your hair (products that contain alcohol or harsh chemicals) and remember to use leave-in conditioners (as mentioned above). Also, if static is unavoidable, carry a dryer sheet with you and rub it on your hair to tamp it down.
Designer
“Vince” is the name behind the clothing line from co-founders Christopher LaPolice and Rea Laccone. Set out to be the antithesis of big business, Vince was launched as a kind of “comfort food” in terms of clothing. One can see the “comfort” in the products: cashmere hoodies and pants made from luxury fabrics are just a couple of examples. In fact, the label’s signature cashmere sweater has become the company’s “must have,” especially with celebrities like Catherine Zeta Jones who once discovered the sweater and then actually phoned “Vince” to get the product in multiple colors.

thanks for the tips on preventing hat hair
Oh no! I’m going to start spending money on fall stuff already.
No problem! As someone who loves to wear hats, it’s always something I’m concerned with.
Any excuse to wear cashmere.
